Jeff builds winning teams. These teams have provided strategic and tactical expertise to companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500. Prior to QuantumIOT, he served as CTO of Numerex, a leading provider of M2M solutions. He was the Chair of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-50 Smart Device Communications Standards Committee and the Convener of the Global Standards Collaboration (GSC) M2M Standardization Task Force.
Jeff is no stranger to emerging technologies. As a scientist for Motorola, The Robotics Institute, and the SuperCollider he has worked on wireless sensor and control systems developed for the FBI, CIA, DOD, DOE, NASA, and USPS – from autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles to particle accelerators.
In 1993 Jeff co-founded OnRamp Technologies, a leading Internet Service Provider, which became the first investment of Verio. Jeff served as Verio’s Regional President and a board member as the company grew to one of the largest web-hosting companies in the world and a principal international ISP. Verio was sold for $6B to NTT.
In 2002 Jeff founded SensorLogic, one of the industry’s leading Telemetry Service Providers (TSP). Jeff was a co-founder of Via, Vericenter, Vaultnet, Memorial.com, Advanced Home Automation, i2b Ventures, and Ublip (aquired by Numerex in 2008). Jeff has served or serves on the boards of technology companies including Numerex, Winning Habits, CreditAnswers, Vericenter, and Verio. Jeff has also served as an advisor to several Venture Capital funds.
Jeff has a B.S. in Engineering Science from Trinity University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he serves on the Development Board of the University and the Advisory Board of the College of Engineering.
